Looking for source Choquette and Hass avocado variety to do grafting in the Trou-Du-Nord (Nord-Est, Haiti) areas. Does anybody have any potential contacts? Thanks.

@Roger_Gietzen , @Bryan_Beachy , @Mike_Martin , @Billy or @Clint_Bower do any of you have contacts with someone who might have these varieties for grafting?

@Henry_Chu are you looking for budwood for grafting?

I don’t have a source. Most Haitians grow the local varieties. I believe ORE in the south had some off season ones like Choquette, but I don’t have a contact from them anymore. Not sure if the organization is still active. Might be easier to go to the DR for that sort of thing.

Let’s see what the other guys say. I know Bryan has a bunch of awesome avocado varieties in Fond Des Blanc, including some off season ones. He might be able to help.

We need to try to find them in the north of Haiti. It’s almost impossible to get trees from the south to the north. If anyone is in the north of the DR, I know they have them in the DR.

Yes, this is for grafting.

I don’t know of anyone in the north. But a trip planned to the south via sunrise would definitely be a possibility to get scions to the north. Carrying them in a cold bag with some ice inside (separate from the scions) would definitely be a possibility.
I can help make some connections in the south if needed.
