Hi there! I am wondering if anyone knows an expert in invasive species management, particularly when dealing with paper mulberry trees. We have an urban farm in Louisiana, and we seem to be losing the battle against them-- they sprout up in all our neighbors lawns and all our garden beds. Digging out the roots every season has been pretty tiring and I’m hoping someone might have experience with permanently removing them. We have used Garlon herbicide directly on the cut trunks, but the root system is still sending up shoots. Thank you!
Megan, when using that herbicide, did you buy the high concentration version and did you use it full strength? I’ve never used Garlon but any herbicides that I have used on stumps, I always bought the highly concentrated version and used full strength and it has always worked on various different species of trees. Another option would be to use two different herbicides. I can’t imagine that not working.
