Erythrina edulis is a nitrogen fixing tree that makes edible seeds that can be used like beans. More info here: Erythrina edulis - Useful Tropical Plants
This seems like a very promising plant for fighting protein malnutrition in the mountain highlands of Haiti where I live. I’m trying to see if anyone knows a US source of seeds for this species as import into Haiti from the US is relatively easy.

Hi Joel,
We have a couple of Erythrina species at ECHO in Ft Myers, Fl. We don’t have edulis, but we have smithiana and berteroana. I haven’t seen them produce a ton of seeds here, but if you are ever around, we could probably get you some cuttings.
Greetings Seth,
Thanks for letting me know. I have E. berteroana (I believe) available locally. I’m primarily interested in E. edulis because it is edible and I understand the other Erythrina species are not.
