Hi. Could you all help me identify these. The citrus is an air layer from the Dominican Republic.
The bean is growing in Haiti at about 5,000 feet elevation. Looks like it has gm/cc potential. Locally called ‘pwa koniyon’.
Thanks

Dear Mike,
The Citrus looks to me like what Haitians call “Chadeque”. This is a variety of Grapefruit (Citrus maxima) that is widely grown in Haiti. It can be used for juice, jam or to aromatise liquor.
The bean reminds me of runner bean (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phaseolus_coccineus), at least the typical red flowers. If you want to be sure, let a bean germinate. If the cotyledones stay in the soil it is runner beans.
Best
Simon
I agree with Simon. My initial thoughts are exactly the same: a grapefruit that has lots of pumelo-like characteristics (or maybe a pumelo that has grapefruit-like characteristics?) and something like a scarlet runner bean.
