Pruning Eggplants

Hi there.
I want to share with you all about the pruning technique that did not work on my EGGPLANTS- (salanum melongena) ‘Aswad’.
I learned that they (EGGPLANTS) can be pruned like all other crops in the family of the SOLANUM, but unfortunately, this method of “taking off” the succers did not work on my eggplants.
All the flowers near the pruned suckers turned dry.

Please let me know HOW IT WORKS if you ever pruned EGGPLANTS.

Hi Daniel,
I think it depends on your climate. I’m in very hot Chad, and I would not prune my eggplant because that foliage is also a cooling mechanism. But you could wait for a cooler season and try again!
