Research: Impact of smallholder farmers transitioning to agroecology- based ag systems in low and middle-income countries

I’m interested in accessing credible research into the impact of small-holder farmers in low and middle income countries transitioning to agroecology based ag systems, or applying permaculture design.

For example: improved yields, cost-savings (from reduced out-side inputs and decreased labor), carbon sequestered, as well as other unexpected/ unintended benefits such as improved social capital, efficacy and agency of farmers/ permaculture practitioners.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?
