Strengthening International Seed Network Survey

From David Gould, General Secretary of the IFOAM Seeds Platform:

We are pleased to share with you the launch of the Strengthening International Seed Network Survey – the first step in a collective effort to connect and strengthen the many organizations, networks, communities of practice, and individuals working on farmers’ seeds and cultivated biodiversity around the world.

This initiative, already supported by a dozen organisations across as many countries, is grounded in the belief that mutual support, solidarity, and knowledge-sharing are essential for advancing farmers’ seed systems. By participating in this survey, you will help us:

  • Map the landscape of who is working where, on what themes, and with which approaches.

  • Make visible the diversity of initiatives and highlight opportunities for exchange and collaboration.

  • Lay the foundation for future tools, platforms, and activities that can facilitate joint learning, coordination, and dialogue.

Your input will not only strengthen the picture of global work on farmers’ seeds but also ensure that the tools and collaborations we develop are relevant to your needs and realities.

If you are working in seed systems, please take 15 minutes to complete the survey here:

We are working to translate the survey into other languages as well and shall make these available as soon as possible.

We also encourage you to share this survey with other colleagues, organisations, or networks who might be working on these issues. The broader the participation, the stronger the basis for building meaningful connections and reducing duplication of efforts.

Thank you for contributing your voice to this important collective process. If you have any questions, comments, etc. please be in touch.

With best regards,

David Gould
General Secretary
IFOAM Seeds Platform

Thank you Stacy for posting this! Anyone is welcome to reach out to me directly if they have any questions, comments, etc.

Hello @David_Gould! Will you be sharing the results of the survey outcomes back with us at ECHO? As Global MEAL Lead I would be very interested to learn more about the joint learning opportunities and see how we can play our part in this going forward!

Yes, absolutely, @Gerrianne_Pennings_S - The survey response period will go through October, after which time we shall be compiling and distilling results to share with our network and conceive next steps - including with ECHO. We greatly appreciate deepening the connection between IFOAM and ECHO. Thank you for your enthusiasm and proactivity!

If you haven’t filled out the survey yet, there is still time!

The survey is also now available in Spanish

Gracias Stacy! Les animo a todos a compartirlo con sus colegas.
