East Africa NUS Series East Africa Seed Bank Manager, Faith Juma, has been posting a NUS series on LinkedIn that is now available as a Conversations blog to share with even more of the ECHO network. Thank you, Faith! Guatemala Field Experience Following the ECHO Internship Training program, Interns may apply to participate in a 6-month field experience. This component provides interns the opportunity to live and work in an actual field setting with one of ECHO’s Regional Impact Centers. Ag Training Training and extension are key to transferring knowledge and information in international agriculture development. It is important for development workers to share knowledge and skills in appropriate ways with small-scale farmers we are serving. It is equally important to learn from the small-scale farmers we are working with. Research Updates Our research focuses on the agricultural needs of resource-limited, small-scale farmers. We strive to contribute perspective that has not been extensively researched by others. In many instances, this involves starting with innovations (e.g., use of green manures) that have proven successful but for which there might be untested variations or modifications that could be of benefit to farmers.
